News: 'Proof of Life' - First New Keith Herber Scenario in Fifteen Years Tuesday, November 11, 2008 @ 23:17:34 GMT by PoC (258 reads) | After years in the Cthulhu wilderness (if there be such a thing) Keith Herber is back in the fold. Under the aegis of Miskatonic River Press (co-owned by Keith) he's released Proof of Life, a classic-era Call of Cthulhu scenario issued as a limited edition PDF in advance of MRP's forthcoming volume New Tales of the Miskatonic Valley.
The PDF is priced at $5.55 (US) [apparently there's a significance in the price], weighs in at 29 pages and contains original artwork by Jason Eckhardt. The adventure is designed for two to three nights of play.
Welcome back Keith!

News: Secret Shoggoth III Saturday, November 08, 2008 @ 21:01:41 GMT by PoC (198 reads) | For the past couple of years, CAThompson has been running a marvellous event on old Yoggie, the annual Secret Shoggoth and this year is no different with Secret Shoggoth III.
Secret Shoggoth is YSDC's festive season mystery gift exchange and if previous years' Secret Shoggoth events are anything to go by, it should prove both rewarding and very entertaining. For further details, see the Secret Shoggoth III thread in the forums.
Many have already signed up, and if you haven't, here's a chance to join in!

News: 'Bride of Halloween Horror' MULA Monograph PDF Monday, November 03, 2008 @ 22:00:10 GMT by PoC (329 reads) | This one initially slipped by me (I suspect because there's not a Chaosium news item for it) but Chaosium have released a new MULA monograph in PDF format called Bride of Halloween Horror, an adventure monograph containing nine scenarios for Call of Cthulhu which are the winners and honourable mentions in Chaosium's 2008 Halloween Adventure Contest.
Well, it may be past Halloween, but I'm sure there will be some fun still to be had with this collection. :)

News: The Shadow Out of Time - Radio Drama from the HPLHS Tuesday, October 21, 2008 @ 17:47:17 GMT by PoC (485 reads) | Out a short while ago, but the thing in the cellar kept me at bay - those maniacal makers of mythos media, the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society have been at it again. Following on from their June 2008 release of The Dunwich Horror, the HPLHS have now produced: "H.P. Lovecraft's The Shadow Out of Time".
As usual for the purchasers of the CD version, The Shadow Out of Time comes with a set of carefully made props of the standard we've come to expect from the makers of the film, The Call of Cthulhu.
Never one to rest on their laurels, the HPLHS are already working on their next audio drama, The Shadow over Innsmouth due in November. While you're at it, why not check out the wooden boxed set and the behind-the-scenes video of Dark Adventure Radio Theatre...
